As a highly qualified graduate, you will have an opportunity to use your skills and passion to benefit our customers' energy portfolios and help customers achieve their carbon reduction ambitions. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Research, Senior Research Analyst and Risk Management (Trading) team. There will also be opportunity to present the results of research and analysis undertaken to customers. Graduates will become the next generation of individuals to help Mitie achieve our mission over the next 10-15 years.
Main Duties
- Collate, analyse and report on wholesale market price trends for energy and environmental traded products
- Undertake regular web-based research on key energy trends and report to the wider team
- Undertake ad hoc web-based research on specific energy trends on request by both internal and external (customer) stakeholders; present results to stakeholders
- Write commentary on energy trends based on research undertaken
- Update spreadsheet models with data collated from several sources
- Design and implement upgrades to existing spreadsheet models
What we are looking for
- Educated to at least degree level (in the last three years) in a relevant subject, e.g. Geography, Environmental Sciences, Economics, Business Studies, etc. Educated to at least A-Level standard in Mathematics.
- Understanding of research and analysis techniques required to evaluate energy markets
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Good Microsoft Powerpoint, Word and Outlook skills
- Advanced web-based research skills (e.g. Google)
- Numerate and highly literate
- Self-starter, with experience of independent work and ability to work without close supervision
- Confident and calm under pressure
