As the demand to deliver exceptional engineering design from our clients continues to grow, an opportunity has arisen for a Graduate High Voltage Overhead Lines (OHL) Engineer.
As a Graduate Engineer within our High Voltage Overhead Lines (OHL) team, you will be responsible for the quality generation and delivery of design documents and drawings to support the OHL team on key projects.
To help the UK switch to clean energy and make sure the electricity network is fit for the future, the UK transmission network is heading towards the largest overhaul in generations. More new Transmission infrastructure needs to be built over the next 7 years than the whole of the last 30 years.
Your role will be an important part of Baker Hicks’ contribution to this nationally vital electricity grid upgrade. You will also work with the Sector Director - Power and the HV Discipline Director to assist during the bid process in order to secure further work.
What we're looking for
We’re looking for individuals with a passion for High Voltage Engineering with a focus on sustainable and complex projects.
You’ll also need to feel confident to challenge the status quo, strive for perfect delivery and possess a willingness to get involved with every opportunity to develop yourself and put our customers first.
- BEng/BSc in a Science, Engineering or Maths subject
- Strong verbal and written communication, including report writing.
- Ability to work well within a team
- Desire to develop and learn new skills with ability to transfer existing skills to overcome new challenges
