About the scheme
Be at the heart of Morrisons, helping our colleagues be their very best when you join us on the People Management Graduate Scheme. You’ll get stuck into all kinds of activities, seeing how our teams operate and learning how you need to adapt to different situations. During the two-year scheme you’ll gain an overview of our 4 main business areas in Retail, Manufacturing, Logistics and our Central people team. You’ll quickly find yourself with real responsibilities, all while earning a starting salary of £28,000 and studying a CIPD Level 5 Intermediate diploma.
What’s involved?
Throughout the 2-year programme, based in the Leeds/Bradford area, you’ll rotate between 4 placements within our business. These will help you gain an in-depth understanding of the people teams across our main business areas. You’ll have new, exciting responsibilities from day one, making an impact on our colleagues and customers. Day-to-day, you could be:
- Learning our people systems and supporting our colleagues in our stores developing your HR generalist skills such as resourcing, training, talent management and employee engagement
- Specialising in one of our central people teams in our Hilmore House support office such as employee relations, resourcing or retail support
- Working in one of our manufacturing or logistics sites supporting our people teams to business partner our warehouse managers and drive our people agenda across the site
Our structured training and the chance to work on exciting projects means there will be plenty of opportunities to progress and learn while with us. Throughout, you will also be working to complete your Level 5 CIPD Intermediate Diploma in Human Resource Management. We will support you along the way with study days so you can concentrate on your studies. By the end of the scheme, you will roll off into a people role in one of our 4 business areas.

What you’ll need to join us
We are food makers and shop keepers, and together, we make Morrisons. We’re looking for graduates who will take ownership of problems that arise and resolve them, have a drive to succeed and have a real passion for people management, while holding a customer-focused approach. You should be a great communicator with strong listening skills and the ability to build relationships with a diverse team of people. Candidates also need a minimum 2:1 in any degree subject and a full UK driving licence. Other key qualities we want to see include:
