    Reporting into the Architecture Team Lead the key responsibility of this role is the development of cloud architectures to support our strategy and roadmap.

    Role Description

    Working closely with the engineering teams, delivery partners and technology vendors you will have responsibility for:

    • Developing and owning a roadmap for cloud technology implementation that aligns to the needs of the Motability Operations’ strategy and roadmap
    • Delivering solution architectures to support the design, development and implementation for projects and ownership of the overall solution design
    • Working with the Business and IT teams to develop and share understanding of business processes and their implementation through the technology platforms
    • Providing technical leadership across projects
    • Minimise any impact to Motability Operations’ Customers
    • Work closely with Security to implement a secure solution

    About You

    You will have gained the following skills/experience:

    • You love working with both internal customers and 3rd parties to understand their requirements and priorities
    • You have experience of communicating technical issues effectively to multiple disciplines within IT and the wider business
    • You’ll have a good understanding of the issues involved in project development, the ability to engage with the project managers in the deployment of the architecture in a pragmatic way
    • You will have experience of resolving design conflicts working with Subject Matter Experts, third parties and managers to agree solutions
    • You’ll have experience working with multiple 3rd parties to implement an end-to-end solution.
    • You will have strong written, oral, interpersonal skills.
    • You will be self-motivated and able to work on your own and within a team environment
    • You enjoy keeping up with the latest technologies and use this knowledge to constantly review existing architecture, processes and procedures to identify areas of improvement and efficiency
    • You have the desire to deliver results, and to resolve conflicts expediently with an independent and objective approach
    • You have networking experience
    • You will have an interest in analysing complex problems and identifying appropriate solutions and options to address them
    • You’ll have hands on experience in implementing cloud infrastructure on AWS or a similar platform.
    • You’ll have experience of balancing business, customer and security needs when implementing new solutions.
    • You will have a good knowledge of best practices from both an infrastructure and security point of view
    • You have a good understanding of on-prem data centre infrastructure architecture.
    • You are happy to challenge requirements from different business areas.
    • You will have proven experience in a similar role and have expert knowledge of AWS cloud architecture.
    • You will have an up to date AWS Certified Professional qualification

    • Proven experience in a similar role
    • Expert AWS knowledge
    • The ability to work closely with both the business and IT Users

    Being able to effectively communicate to different audiences is a core requirement for the role. You must be able to communicate ideas clearly and concisely in written documents and to present these coherently and logically.

    Architects must be able to make good decisions. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to analyse complex problems and identify appropriate solutions to address these.
