    This industrial placement opportunity is for a period of 10 to 12 months, during which, you will have the opportunity to support our Early Careers Talent Acquisition team with the recruitment of early talent for Mott MacDonald across all business units, whilst delivering on our attraction strategy.

    Our early careers team are responsible for the recruitment of graduates, apprentices, and placement students in the Europe region. Our team of eight are based across two locations: Birmingham and Croydon, so this role can be based from either office, as well as the opportunity for remote working. This industrial placement is key in providing an efficient and effective recruitment administration service to the business.

    How we market our opportunities to students as their employer of choice is hugely important and directly impacts on our ability to attract and hire a high-volume of early careers talent each year.     Your main responsibilities

    • Recruitment: you’ll work closely with the team to create roles on our ATS, screen applications and organise interviews for candidates for various roles. Delivering an excellent candidate experience by ensuring queries are actioned efficiently. You’ll provide on-boarding support for all hires, including preparing documents for offer of employment and organising pre joining events. You’ll be responsible for admin tasks as required.
    • Marketing: you’ll be supporting the team with the design and delivery of university career fairs during Autumn and school events throughout the year: booking events; liaising with our logistics company; ordering the merchandise; and sourcing volunteers to attend events. You’ll review our job adverts and, working with the business, make improvements where required, ensuring that all branding is consistent across our campaign. You’ll create and maintain engaging content for our digital and printed materials.

    Candidate specification

    To join us for an industrial trainee placement you must currently be at University or looking for a pre-university placement. 

    You’ll be working with graduates, experienced professionals, and other students so a placement with us is the perfect opportunity to learn from a variety of people while understanding our values and culture. It’s also a great chance to get involved with real projects while gaining relevant experience.  

    We do not have a formal structure for our placements, so you can really make the role your own. The more you get involved and the more questions you ask, the more you will gain from your experience with us. 

    As well as studying an undergraduate degree in humanities, marketing or similar, we are looking for students with the following characteristics: 

    • Organisational skills and able to prioritise tasks. 
    • The ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.  
    • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with the business, third party suppliers and candidates.   
    • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
