Electrical Engineering Graduate (Intel Trans Sys) 2024

The Technology Services Engineering and Consultancy team (TS) is part of the Transport and Mobility Services (TMS) Division within the Mott MacDonald Transportation Business. We provide client support from feasibility studies through detailed design to post installation analysis for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). Mott MacDonald help clients deliver high-quality transport technology solutions across local roads, the highway network, and public transport. We are seeking a graduate to join the team in the UK to work on projects both nationally and internationally.

We require design and engineering skills across the entire ITS spectrum to develop and implement solutions for local, national and international projects. Projects range from high profile smart motorways schemes and autonomous vehicles through automatic fare collection systems to local equipment installation, such as variable message signs, CCTV and vehicle detectors.

We are seeking an individual who will contribute technically to Mott MacDonald’s TS team. Your role will primarily be centred around research, designing and specifying a varied range of ITS and traffic signals projects using your skills and experience to deliver technical excellence to schemes on behalf of our clients.

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months relevant experience and have a technology related degree in one of the following main degree disciplines (other disciplines may be considered for the right candidate with additional relevant experience):

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronic Engineering
  • Systems Engineering

In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.

We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:

  • Methodical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.
