Our summer internship schemes are for a period of 2 to 6 months, during which, you will have the opportunity to work within our Energy Sector – Transmission and distribution division where you’ll have the chance to work on large scale projects alongside our teams.

You’ll be working with graduates, experienced professionals, and other students so an internship with us is the perfect opportunity to learn from a variety of people while understanding our values and culture. It’s also a great chance to get involved with real projects while gaining relevant experience.

Our electrical engineers work in world class teams to design and deliver sustainable solutions. Our work spans a variety of sectors including Energy, Aviation, Buildings, Ports, Rail & metros and water. In our Energy Sector we undertake projects in power transmission and distribution, energy systems, hydropower, renewable energy, thermal generation, nuclear services, and oil & gas.

As the digital revolution is applied to the provision of essential services, electrical engineering will play a central role in creating smart infrastructure, helping to deliver better and quicker performance.

It’s also a great chance to get involved with real projects while gaining relevant experience. We do not have a formal structure for our internships so you can really make the role your own. The more you get involved and the more questions you ask, the more you will gain from your experience with us.

Candidate Specification

To join us for a summer placement you must currently be at university. This placement is for students studying in either of the below degree disciplines:

  • Engineering (Electrical)
  • Engineering (Power Engineering related degree)

You should be able to demonstrate your interest in your chosen sector through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.

We are looking for students with the following characteristics:

  • A methodical approach to problem solving
  • The ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail with the ability to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.
