    To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months relevant experience and have a degree or are expected to achieve one of the following degree disciplines:  

    • BEng / MEng Structural Engineering 
    • BEng / MEng Civil / Structural Engineering 
    • BEng / MEng Civil Engineering 

    In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience. 

    In this role you will

    • Work as a structural design engineer within a team, helping to deliver buildings projects across a range of sectors, typically in commercial, defence or large-scale and challenging infrastructure
    • Review schemes and prepare conceptual design options, producing reports and sketches in different formats to convey your design
    • Undertake detail design, predominantly in reinforced concrete and steelwork
    • Supervise drafting and production of your designs
    • Assess carbon emissions to provide information to clients
    • Support management tasks with input to planning, costings and programmes as required
    • Support in providing construction phase technical advice and inspections as required
    • Work within multi-disciplinary teams, including geotechnics, architecture, mechanical and electrical engineering, infrastructure
    • Work in a wide variety of sectors including rail, defence, aviation, water, all involving in-depth structural engineering

    We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics: 

    • Methodical approach to problem solving 
    • Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently. 
    • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members. 
    • Excellent written communication and attention to detail and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.
