    Job Description

    We have an exciting opportunity for a developing Cleanwater Network Modeller to join our national team. You will be a driven individual with a keen interest in cleanwater modelling, network resilience planning and solution engineering. You should be familiar with cleanwater software such as InfoWorks WS, WaterGEMS or similar, as well as GIS packages. The ideal candidate would be a graduate or early career professional progressing towards chartership or newly chartered, and keen to progress their career and evolve within Mott MacDonald.

    As a Hydraulic Modeller, you would be responsible for providing key technical inputs on a range of cleanwater infrastructure projects. 

    Typical duties would include:

    • Model build and calibration of water supply network models
    • Specification of surveys
    • Collate and analyse flow and pressure data
    • Modelling and the subsequent development of solutions for water supply including reinforcement and flow transfer
    • Fire flow analysis
    • Report writing and preparation of presentation materials
    • Working in close partnership with clients, representing the company in technical meetings

    Who You Are

    Required for the position of Hydraulic Cleanwater Modeller:

    • Relevant degree qualified or vocational qualification.
    • Familiar in use of InfoWorks WS, WaterGEMS or a similar cleanwater modelling software package, as well as GIS packages
    • Experience in spreadsheet data analysis (MS Excel, PowerBI)
    • Good collaboration and communication skills, able to enter into technical discussions in a logical and coherent fashion in both oral presentations and written reports, to colleagues, non-technical staff and clients
    • Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams

    Any programming skills in FME and in languages such as VBA or Python would be advantageous
