As a member of our Electrical & Plant Team, you will be involved in the delivery of consultancy and design services on a wide range of diverse UK projects, working alongside other Graduate and Assistant Electrical Engineers, under the supervision of Senior and Principal Engineers.
The work will involve the design of low voltage electrical systems for railways, on large and small projects, and throughout the project lifecycle from feasibility studies to detailed design. You will have a part to play in developing designs and specifications, working with an experienced team to guide you on the way. We will put a mentorship plan in place to help guide both your technical and soft-skill development and ensure that you have a development action plan that supports your career aspirations, particularly towards Chartered Engineer status. What you'll do
Day to day responsibilities may include, on a project by project, basis:
- The provision of low voltage electrical engineering input into feasibility studies, option selection stages, outline design and detailed design.
- Production of 2D and 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings and Building Information Modelling (BIM) to support the electrical design.
- Production of lighting and electrical calculations using industry-standard software.
- Production of engineering design and consultancy reports and specifications.
- Visiting site to undertake condition assessment of operational railway electrical equipment.
- Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and use the principles of Safe by Design.
- Contribution to the engineering design of multi-disciplinary railway engineering (design and consultancy) projects.
- Electrical design of signalling power supplies, points heating, earthing & bonding, control centres, stations, junction lighting, and level crossings.
- Building relations with existing and new clients.
- Involvement with bids and production of proposals to win new work.
- Contribution to team meetings and client-facing meetings.
- Observation of Mott MacDonald’s quality, health and safety, sustainability, commercial and project management procedures, as relevant to the tasks being undertaken.

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months relevant experience and have a degree or are expected to achieve one of the following degree disciplines:
