    As a Junior eDiscovery Analyst within our expanding internal eDiscovery department at our leading offshore law-firm led professional services business, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the end-to-end electronic discovery process. The ideal candidate will possess a keen interest in legal technology, exceptional organisational skills, and an analytical mindset. This position requires a dynamic individual capable of managing projects efficiently and contributing to the technical aspects of eDiscovery tasks.

    About the role

    • Conduct data collection, processing, and analysis using industry-standard eDiscovery tools.
    • Assist in the identification, preservation, and collection of electronically stored information (ESI) for legal matters.
    • Coordinate eDiscovery projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
    • Collaborate with legal teams to understand case requirements and provide strategic input on eDiscovery processes.
    • Learn to use eDiscovery software tools for data processing and analysis.
    • Assist in processing data, including deduplication, filtering, and other initial steps in the eDiscovery workflow.
    • Assist in the intake process for new cases, collecting and documenting relevant information.
    • Learn to create and maintain case files and documentation.
    • Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance eDiscovery knowledge and skills.
    • Seek opportunities for professional development and certifications in eDiscovery.
    • Oversee the data processing phase, including data culling, deduplication, and filtering to reduce data volumes.
    • Implement coding strategies for document review, ensuring accurate and consistent application of metadata.
    • Conduct quality control checks on processed data and ensuring adherence to established protocols.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues during the eDiscovery lifecycle.
    • Generate detailed reports on eDiscovery project progress, presenting findings to stakeholders as necessary.
    • Document workflows, best practices, and project-specific information to contribute to the knowledge base of the department.
    • Under supervision, conduct basic forensic analysis on digital evidence.
    • Learn to use forensic tools to recover, preserve, and analyse electronic data.
    • Work with more experienced team members to collect ESI from various sources.
    • Develop effective communication skills to interact with team members, clients, and external parties.
    • Draft basic reports and summaries for case updates.
    • Attend orientation sessions to learn about the firm's policies, procedures, and tools.
    • Participate in training programs to gain a basic understanding of eDiscovery processes and forensic tools.
    • Participate in quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness of processed data.
    • Review and verify work product to maintain high standards.
    • Collaborate with team members and other departments to gather information and ensure smooth workflow.
    • Attend meetings to discuss case details and progress.
    • Conduct research on eDiscovery best practices, industry trends, and relevant legal requirements.
    • Stay informed about new technologies and tools in the eDiscovery field.
    • Stay abreast of advancements in eDiscovery technology and participate in the evaluation and implementation of new tools to enhance department efficiency.

    About you 

    • A degree in Computer Science, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred.
    • Familiarity with eDiscovery processes, litigation support, and legal project management.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of eDiscovery tools such as Relativity, Disco, or similar platforms.
    • Project management certification (e.g. PMP) is desired but not essential.
