Main purpose of the role

We are seeking a graduate engineer to join our team that specialises on the design, fabrication and erection of steel structures across in the UK and Ireland. As a graduate engineer, you will excel in steelwork design, seamlessly integrating with our team and helping design manager to carry out daily design work. You need to work closely with your design manager and ensure that the projects meet legal guidelines, achieve required level of quality standards, environmental directives, design programme and health and safety standards. You will be expected to maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, courses, reviewing professional publications, participating in professional societies.

In addition to these functions personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the Group/Company/ Operational Unit

Qualifications & skills

  • A Master’s degree in Civil & Structural Engineering.
  • 1-2 years of experience in structural engineering design (preferably in steel design) in the UK or Ireland.
  • A proactive approach with a willingness to learn, passion for the profession and develop within the role.
  • A Solid understanding of structural analysis and design principles and practices.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to do hand calculations.
  • Ability to write own spreadsheets (Not a must, but desired).
  • Ability to use efficiently AutoCAD however hand drawing skill is a must.
  • Have a user experience at least one of the design and analysis software such as Tekla Structural Designer/Robot/Master frame.
  • Knowing Master series Connection or Ideastatica is advantage but not essential.
  • Knowing Eurocodes or British Standards.
