About the Role
As a Net Zero Graduate Construction Engineer, you’ll join the team really making the energy transition happen. We’re developing two significant infrastructure build programmes in two new, rapidly developing, sectors to create the first hydrogen and carbon transportation infrastructure for National Gas.
Day to day, you can expect to be supporting design development, ensuring designs are deliverable and all elements come together to deliver and effective build project. You’ll review project programmes to check all elements of the work have been considered with appropriate time allowed for key activities and the critical path is maintained.
During this 18-month programme, after your initial induction, you’ll complete three 6-month placements. During your first placement, we’ll have two big projects in FEED conceptual design, so you’ll be supporting the Project Manager to ensure everything is on track, investigating areas of concern and proposing solutions to rectify any risks that could endanger the project programme.

You’ll need a STEM degree. It could be anything related to:
- Engineering disciplines – mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation, Process or chemical
- Oil & Gas/Petroleum
- Geology/Hydrogen/Carbon
- Net Zero transition related

Our sites are located across the country, so you’ll need to be comfortable with travel and overnight stays from time to time. This also means that you’ll need to hold a full driving licence and be comfortable driving between sites.
You'll need to have permanent right to work in the UK for the entirety of this programme, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

In return, you’ll receive a range of benefits that reward your great work. Your starting annual salary will be £34,646, plus a bonus scheme and a welcome payment of £2000. You'll receive a generous holiday allowance with the option to buy and sell additional days.

As part of our Hybrid working approach, your time will be split between office days, site visits and working from home.
You'll start in a large cohort of other graduates and apprentices, where you'll attend an in person induction in September 2025, fostering strong workplace relationships that will build the foundation of your future networks.
