Whilst working alongside various teams within National Grid including technical and non-technical employees, you’ll be anticipating customer needs, administering the voice of the customer to ensure delivery of Electricity Transmission customer products and mitigating risks through managing and negotiating commercially appropriate contracts. All the while providing the customer with a positive experience through their customer journey. Key activities include:
- Manage the commercial liability through the negotiation of the appropriate contracts across the connections lifecycle
- Utilise a range of techniques to engage the customer, develop solutions that work through understanding and driving fit-for-purpose commercial solutions
- Support and contribute to the implementation of the ET customer strategy into the portfolio of customers, leveraging mutual value for our Customers and ET
- With support, develop ET Customer Account Plans to manage customer relationships (including the SO) and provide a 360 view of the account that drives profitable activity, and shape our business offering to deliver improvements in service
- Provide the business with a forward projection / pipeline of customer work and ensure that these requirements are effectively communicated
- Ensure alignment of Commercial & Technical responsibilities across Customer Connection Opportunities are championed across ET, managing through a professionally negotiated contracting strategy
- Provide the commercial input for all portfolio customer interactions, seeking value and furthering our commercial position whilst maintaining compliance with Grid / Industry requirements
About You
You’ll have a minimum 2.2 degree in any discipline and, ideally, will have a valid full UK Driving Licence.

The role will give you the opportunity to interact with many teams within ET, gain a strong understanding of the ET system, at all levels including senior managers. You will also have opportunities to speak directly with external customers about what we can provide for them when connecting to the Grid.
