NATS is the UK’s leading Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP). Every year we handle 2.6 million flights and keep 250 million passengers safe whilst in UK airspace. What will the Learning Development Graduate Scheme involve?

This 2 year programme will be based at our Head Office in Whiteley (Hampshire) however we have adopted ‘agile working’ which will enable you, where possible, to have the opportunity and flexibility to work in our modern office facilities as well as at home.

We have an exciting opportunity for a graduate to join the Technical Learning Team. It is NATS' ambition to become a top 25 employer by 2040, in support of this we are looking for someone who has a passion for change and innovation to help us transform how we deliver technical training at NATS in the future.

We will provide you with a diverse range of experiences that will allow you to develop skills in the areas of learning and development, business improvement, change management, project management, stakeholder management alongside an opportunity to develop your soft skills (e.g. influencing, collaboration) too.

Initially you will support interesting Learning Development projects from start to finish alongside specialists, which will enable you to develop the relevant skills and prepare you for managing your own projects as soon as you are ready.

Examples of the challenges you could get involved with are:

  • Working with stakeholders from across Technical Services to manage training improvement and/or new training projects focussed on delivering the desired outcomes for the customer
  • Working with stakeholders to identify key skills for the roles in their team
  • The day-to-day management and ongoing development of our entry level engineering training programmes
  • The role is most suited for candidates with a degree in business, HR, psychology or project management, however the most important thing for us is that you have a can-do attitude, are interested in the field of learning and development, enjoy a challenge, are goal orientated, have a strong determination to succeed and enjoy making a difference.
  • You’ll also need to pass NATS pre-employment security clearance checks.

We will work with you to identify those projects and development opportunities that are of most interest to you and give you an opportunity to obtain a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt qualification, which will set you up for success in this role.

You’ll need to have achieved a minimum of 2:2 in a relevant degree within the last 2 years, or be on track to graduate in 2024, and have a demonstrable interest in your field outside of your studies.
