    Programme Essentials 

    To join one of our 12-month Internships you will be:

    • Currently be studying at University and applying for a Placement year in your 2nd or final year or graduating in Summer 2024 
    • Looking for work experience immediately after completing A-Levels or equivalent course or an Apprenticeship 
    • Eligible to work in the UK without restriction for the duration of the internship from Monday 1st July 2024- Friday 18th July 2025

    What will I be doing? 

    The Universal Pictures (UPI) EMEA Publicity team is responsible for the strategic release of all studio, Blumhouse, Illumination, DreamWorks, Focus and Working Title films releasing in EMEA. In a snapshot this includes working with the global publicity teams on the coordination of press days, content days, film festivals, press tours and premieres. 

    As the EMEA Publicity intern you will: 

    • Support the EMEA publicity coordinator and leads  
    • Assist with advance and on the ground logistics with junkets and press events (aka booking travel, cars, couriers, press hotels, press check in, travel visas) 
    • Setup press and talent screenings, manage screening reactions and embargo forms 
    • Coordinate sending screening links where necessary  
    • Responsible for collating, formatting, and distributing reviews for EMEA markets 
    • Responsible for EMEA finances, raising purchases orders and setting up new vendors  
    • Submit claims for corporate card expenses for both themselves and Head of EMEA publicity 
    • Research projects where necessary for the department & contribute to brainstorms 
    • Schedule all Teams/In-person meetings including booking conference rooms and setting up AV, prepare agendas and take minutes when requested 
    • Maintain internal tracking documents (e.g., team calendars, film calendars, reviews docs, reaction memos, screening memos and distribution lists) 
    • Responsible for ordering any equipment for the department 
    • Assist uploading and distributing publicity assets to territories  
    • Assist with the production of publicity PowerPoints and presentations 

    What will I learn from this opportunity? 

    • Build an understanding of the theatrical market and film industry and how a publicity campaign plays a vital role in the marketing of a film 
    • Learn how a strategic EMEA theatrical publicity campaign is run from start to finish 
    • Learn how the publicity team works within the wider marketing team and what each department is responsible for 
    • Build invaluable knowledge of the different areas of a campaign including title launches, set visits, junkets, content days, film festivals, publicity tours, trailer launches, influencer events and global and local premieres 
    • Learn to identify key similarities, differences and nuances across various EMEA territories media landscapes and local campaign needs    

    What do I need to bring to the role? 

    1. Excellent administration skills 
    2. Strong communication (verbal and written) skills 
    3. Highly organised and proactive with strong attention to detail 
    4. Excellent computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential 
    5. Interest in the film and media 
    6. Able to work at a fast pace and under pressure! 
    7. Strong team player
