The role

We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated and tenacious individual educated to degree level in a Mechanical Engineering or other related field or equivalent work experience in an Engineering environment. The successful applicant will work as part of a highly motivated team striving to meet all quality, cost and schedule targets across a range of devices and products.

Main responsibilities shall include, but will not be restricted to:

  • Design, develop and document devices
  • Design, develop and document test procedures to validate functionality
  • Hardware unit test
  • Regular progress reporting on schedule, quality & size of change
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
  • Support for existing Designs managing Requests for Change, problem investigation, identification and resolution

About you

Basic qualifications/experience for Mechanical Engineers

  • Honours Degree qualified (2:1 or higher preferred)
  • CAD (ProE/Creo preferred or Solidworks)
  • A good understanding of mechanical drive systems
  • Drawing, dimensioning & tolerancing experience
  • Stress and Tolerance analysis experience
  • Mechanism design experience is an advantage
  • Experience with assemblies containing PCBs/harnesses is an advantage.
  • Experience with Rapid prototyping technologies

Additional qualifications/experience (preferred but not essential)

  • to 4 years’ industrial experience Industrial grade design Experience with assemblies containing PCBs/harnesses Experience with Rapid prototyping technologies Mechanism design experience Software Development
