    The role

    The Professional Services Project Management and Engagement (PM/E) team is responsible for leading the commercial development of and managing the delivery of Customer Projects that deploy NetApp solutions for NetApp’s major clients. This includes the briefing, scoping, pricing, forecasting, sale and delivery of projects to implement and integrate NetApp products into our customers’ environments. These environments often include major global banks, and complex large commercial and government customers. It is a role that interfaces with many key stakeholders, such as our sales, systems engineering, consultancy, finance and support teams.

    This Intern role is a 12 month placement which entails working directly with and assisting NetApp Project & Engagement Managers.

    • Develop Project Briefs for the customer
    • Develop Scope and Cost for projects
    • The production and manufacture of commercial project documents
    • Leading the delivery of complex projects
    • Managing projects to time cost and quality
    • Forecasting and assessing resource utilization against plans and budget
    • Resource management, leading meetings and aligning delivery against plan
    • Project Governance and Benefits Management

    You can be involved in all stages of the project lifecycle, from defining requirements, planning, service delivery and support. You will also learn valuable skills on how an organisation such as NetApp operates in the real world and you will gain an understanding of the activities and interactions required for the development and implementation of large and complex IT infrastructures.

    Job requirements

    The PM/E team is engaged in the full lifecycle of services sale and delivery. Your role can be tailored to best use your specialist skills or develop new skills that help with your personal goals.

    For example, you might run some internal marketing for the team, develop new reporting processes, manage financial forecasts or arrange technical delivery activities. Experience in project management is not explicitly required due to the versatility of this role and, the position can be adapted to focus on your skills and career interests.

    Coaching and Mentoring

    Within the NetApp PM/E team we will offer the NetApp Intern the opportunity for coaching for personal and professional growth. Our coaching leaders are highly experienced industry leading professionals. These coaching sessions would generally cover:

    • Project Leadership skills
      • Planning, forecasting, quality management, commercial and financial. Stakeholder management, change management, Risk and opportunity management.
    • Broad Business Skills
      • Communication, social selling, influencing, analysis, leading, commercial, effective organizational, technical IT and data, leading change, marketing and sales strategies,

    You can be involved in all stages of the project lifecycle, from defining requirements, planning, service delivery and support. You will also learn valuable skills on how an organisation such as NetApp operates in the real world and you will gain an understanding of the activities and interactions required for the development and implementation of large and complex IT infrastructures.

    About you 

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in one of the following disciplines: Business, Management, Marketing, Computer Science (or related IT focused subjects). We would also welcome applications from outside these disciplines as long as you can demonstrate a proven interest in Project Management.
    • 2.1 minimum or equivalent.
    • Professional experience in Project Management is not necessary due to the versatility of this role. The ideal candidate will have relevant academic or personal experience in Project Management from other areas.
    • Available to start in July 2021 and available to work for the entire 12 month duration of the internship.
    • You must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship as we are unable to provide sponsorship.
    • Highly organized with good time management skills at meeting deadlines.
    • Self-motivated with a desire to learn about project management and the day to day running of a multinational company.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to deal with multiple stakeholders in a fast paced work environment.
    • Desire to learn how to lead change and engage with colleagues and customers.
    • Creative and curious with the ability to suggest and implement new ideas.
    • Energetic and dynamic individual who can get different people behind projects.
    • Attention to detail with a passion for providing a high standard of work
