Brief description
This role will be sat within the Capability and Skills Development team, which forms a part of our central Resourcing and Industry Transition function, reporting into the Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) Manager.
As the Project Leader Change, you will support the SWP Manager, as well as working with the wider Capability team, to design and deliver key People related Change projects.
Your role will be to perform analysis on company and industry wide data sets which help identify the skills we need to help us build a better railway.
We’re passionate about developing our team and we are keen to support our new colleague with a development opportunity such as external qualifications or an apprenticeship in Data Analysis.

Key accountabilities
- Interpret relevant data sets, identifying key themes and actions and present back to key stakeholders in a way that is easy to understand and can gain their buy-in.
- Deliver regular progress reports on change projects, including relevant risks and issues, to SWP Manager, Head of Capability and Skills Development and Director of Resourcing and Industry Transition and other key stakeholders.
- Develop and implement analytical processes, procedures and tools.
- Create quantitative analysis of data processing times associated with stakeholder requirements and formulate proposals to enable optimum data management and reporting activity.
- Develop dashboards and data analysis as required by stakeholders, internal and external customers to aid the identification of trends, and potential business development opportunities.
- Provide stakeholders with expert advice, guidance and support to aid full exploitation of the capabilities of dynamic reports.
Job skills, experience and qualifications
Essential
- Strong analytical skills, enabling you to interpret large quantities of data and produce meaningful business insights.
- Expert user level in database and spreadsheet construction, analysis and maintenance capability.
- Proven ability to work systematically and meet deadlines.
- Previous experience in an analytical role within a business environment.
Desirable
- Interest in people related change projects.
- Experience of working in change projects.
- Knowledge of/experience in the UK rail industry
