    Job mission

    New Balance are offering a one-year paid Internship to a Placement student with a desire to follow a career in HR. Training and support will be given and you will gain a broad knowledge of a European HR department & global business.

    This Placement opportunity is for one year with a start date of Monday, 10th June 2024.

    Major accountabilities:

    • Follow employee lifecycle:
      • New starter process including creating contracts, ensuring the correct right to work checks and reference checks
      • Change process
      • Leaver process
    • HR system: Workday
      • Add new starters and leavers to the system following the correct processes
      • Advertise vacancies, collate applications, set up interviews and support the team in recruiting new roles
      • Running reports as needed including ad hoc checks to ensure the accurate data
    • Liaise with recruitment agencies to support appointing management into stores
    • Keep an up-to-date record of all sickness absences in line with policy and ensure the relevant return to work paperwork is completed
    • Coordinate EMEA recognition programmes
    • Monitor shared inboxes and respond to queries in a timely manner
    • Keep employee files/e-files up to date
    • Provide administrative support to the EMEA HR function
    • Involvement in an associate led committee
    • Involvement in relevant HR Projects
    • Support Office Management when required, including but not limited to, coordination of Sample Sales and covering reception.

    Requirements for success

    • Studying towards a Bachelors degree in a relevant subject, for example HR or Business
    • High level of attention to detail
    • Excellent organisational skills
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
    • System literate
    • Results driven - follows through to conclusion on all projects/commitments
    • Ability to use initiative and work independently
    • Team player
    • Continuous Improvement mindset
