We are looking for a Graduate Asset Surveyor to join our new team to lead on the management of the data held in our asset management and GIS mapping systems and to support the work of our Assets & Sustainability Team.
Do you have an analytical mindset with great problem solving skills and attention to detail? Are you excited about the sustainability agenda and new green technologies? Then we have an exciting new role that might be just what you’re looking for.
About us
Newydd Housing Association is an award-winning organisation that currently owns and manages around 3,000 rented properties in mid and south Wales, working in several local authority areas.
About the role
Reporting to our Head of Assets & Sustainability, you will be responsible for collating and cleansing all data held in our systems for all of our 3,000 properties. You will ensure the data is accurate and up to date and provide key reporting on asset management data, WHQS compliance and our planned maintenance programmes. You will also manage projects from tender stage to completion and maintain accurate records through this process, whilst also supporting other team members.
About you
As our plans grow, we will encourage you to grow. We will help you to build your skills, so you will be a valued member of our high performing Asset & Sustainability Team. As well as a structured on the job and soft skills training programme you will be funded and supported to complete your relevant degree course if not already done so, and to become RICS, CIBSE or CIOB professionally qualified. You will have excellent career prospects and on successful completion of the programme there will be an opportunity for progression to the role of Asset Surveyor.
You will have achieved (or be on target to achieve) a minimum 2:2 degree in a relevant subject. You will have first-rate communication, organisational and team-working skills and a full driving licence. You must be able to demonstrate genuine passion for the role together with a commitment to on-going learning and personal development. Whilst structured learning is key, you will also have the opportunity to get stuck in and show us what you’re made of from the start. The ability to be proactive and work on your initiative is therefore crucial.
The Graduate Asset Surveyor position is a busy, varied, and challenging role and you must be able to demonstrate great analytical knowledge and be an effective communicator and team player with excellent IT skills. Knowledge of asset management software, contract management, procurement and relevant legislation and regulations is desirable but not essential for the role.
We are committed to investing in your future as you contribute to the success of ours. So if you are looking to build your career in surveying with an ethical and friendly company, and you are as committed to delivering an exceptional service as we are, then why not apply?
