    Role Description 

    This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Corporate Surveying Team at NFU Mutual, managing NFU Mutual’s occupied/leasehold portfolio. The occupied portfolio spreads across the UK (including Northern Ireland) and consists of a mix of asset classes including offices and retail.

    As the Graduate Asset Manager, you will be a key asset in supporting the Asset Manager’s implement the property portfolio strategy. The role includes managing the life cycle of property from the initial acquisition stages through to disposal and including intervening lease event activity (such as rent reviews and lease renewals), ensuring that each stage is compliant with the Group’s requirements & policies and that all work is undertaken within legal and regulatory frameworks. The role is diverse and involves most aspects of general practice surveying.

    This role offers great scope to both apply skills gained throughout your studies and learn and develop invaluable new skills. You will be working in a supportive team environment, with MRICS members able to mentor/assist you during the APC process.

    What You'll Do

    • To assist in the Asset Management of NFU Mutual’s occupied/leasehold estate to ensure the property portfolio meets the businesses operational needs (taking into account location, size & budgets) and is aligned to the overall strategy.
    • Support the Asset Managers in disposals and acquisitions including due diligence exercises.
    • To manage their own caseload of Landlord and Tenant works to include lease renewals, rent reviews and break options.
    • Support asset projects including reconfigurations, refurbishments and expansions.
    • Support the development and implementation of our ESG strategy across the portfolio.
    • To assist and provide support in reducing the cost of holding surplus property including temporary letting, security arrangements and serving appropriate notices for business rates relief.
    • During your career you will instruct and manage a varied professional team and property and legal advisors, and you will develop and maintain this influential network of relationships to assist delivery of objectives and professional growth.

    We are looking for a driven, motivated individual who is focused on developing their career in property and has a curiosity for managing real estate. Someone who is a good communicator, with interpersonal skills and a committed team player.

    Workload will vary day to day, so it is essential the successful candidate has or develops skills to manage clear priorities and goals that deliver results. An ability to be flexible will be essential as will an ability to thrive in a dynamic performance focused environment.

    The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong ethical and integrity driven approach to their personal and professional conduct.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    The successful candidate must have an RICS accredited real estate degree (or accredited post graduate degree) and can ideally demonstrate work experience within the sector.

    There must be an intention to complete the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence and attain full Chartered status.

    The role will necessitate national travel therefore a full driving licence is essential.
