The Role
Our 8-week internship programmes offer you the opportunity to learn how our insurance business operates, work closely with various stakeholders, network across the business and engage in real project work within your chosen business area to make a tangible positive impact.
You’ll be supported every step of the way, with scheduled training from our Learning and Development department and a dedicated mentor on hand to guide you. Successful completion of the programme may even lead to you being fast-tracked through our graduate programme application process for 2024, subject to eligibility.

The Agency network is the heart of NFUM and ensuring this unique distribution model continues to meet the future needs of our customers is at the core of what agency department do. Its key focus is on enabling sustainable, profitable and high performing businesses that deliver an optimal customer experience. This is through support to the network right from Agent Recruitment, Leadership Development and investments into their businesses, through to setting our property footprint strategy and Target Operating Model. And as NFUM introduces new tools and processes the department manages change into the network and supports Agencies by creating operational efficiency benefits.
The department is also responsible for the commercial agreements and financial arrangements with our Agencies and is required to adhere to certain FCA regulatory requirements relation to these activities. It also maintains and develops the strong relationships that exist with the Farming Unions, our Regional Advisory Boards and Agent representative groups and continues to drive the future evolution of the agency network.

Qualifications
- Degree in any subject welcome, on track for a 2:2 honours degree.
- You will need to be available for the duration of the internship and on track to meet the degree requirements stated for your chosen programme.
- Our internship programmes are targeted at undergraduate students up to those in the penultimate year of university,
- If you are due to graduate before the internship begins, you will not be eligible.
