    Purpose of the role

    To become a competent Chartered Engineer or Project Manager who can be a future senior leader within our organisation. Work across different departments in our Engineering division to get a clear understanding of the business which includes;

    • Estimating
    • Operations
    • Commercial Management

    On successful completion of the graduate scheme, you will be responsible for effective project engineering, ensuring that projects or activities within the area of control, are engineered to specification and delivered safely, profitably and to customer satisfaction.

    Key deliverables

    • Demonstrate appropriate Health and Safety leadership to ensure that the safety first and foremost message is visible and alive throughout all activities relating to the project on which you are working.
    • Work with your project team to ensure we are meeting the client’s requirements and identify potential risks, solutions and opportunities.
    • Participate and contribute to pre-commencement activities in conjunction with the Pre-construction Manager, to maximise opportunities, efficiency and profitability in the delivery phase of the project.

    • Continuously review the project scope of works, including installation methods, to ensure the precise provision of the customer’s requirements.
    • Provide accurate information for progress reports and meetings.
    • Build positive relationships with the client and main contractor.
    • Establish the financial and commercial objectives within your area of control and ensure that engineering solutions are procured and delivered to achieve these objectives.
    • Manage the appointed specialist sub-contractors within your area of control and ensure the work is being carried out safely to specification and programme.
    • Lead project team members within your area of control to the safe and successful completion within agreed timescales, to meet specification and customer requirements.

    Requirements

    • Degree 2.1 above in Construction Management, Commercial, Operations Management or equivalent
    • GCSE English & Maths Grade 4 or equivalent/above
