About The Technical Support Engineer
Technical Support Engineer Interns provide technical support to external and internal customers while receiving focused, year-round training and development. As a Technical Support Engineer Intern, you will gain a deep knowledge of NI products and apply that expertise to solving our customers' problems and challenges, providing technical consultation. NI Technical Support is a key-value added service that ensures customer success and repetitive business.

- Deep understanding and learning of NI products portfolio through formal training and a continuous improvement attitude.
- Providing timely, accurate and effective solutions to technical problems on all product lines for external customers over primary phone and email communication channels.
- Providing customer onboarding guidance on the installation and working functionality of software, hardware, and support products.
- Providing technical consulting on application architecture, code/design reviews for our key customers
- Keeping accurate records of all inquiries in our internal CRM system and listening for, identifying, and communicating customer needs and requirements that our products do not currently provide, as well as features and functions of the competitive products, to the marketing team.
- Creating and improving customer-facing online content.
- Collaborating with junior and senior members of the team to ensure customer success.
- Participating in training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency on NI products
- Proactively learning about NI products and keep up to date with new developments
This is why you are a Technical Support Engineer intern
- Pursuing a degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Automation, Computer, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or Physics
- Technical aptitude and a thorough understanding of electronics and high-level programming languages
- Exposure to instrumentation & control, industrial automation is preferred
- Familiarity with NI hardware and software is preferred
- Exposure to programming (C++, Python, .NET, LabVIEW, etc.)
- Must enjoy working with people and contributing to the team success as well as working tenaciously in order to meet or exceed personal goals
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (English)
- Demonstrated passion for learning and willingness to put self in unfamiliar situations
- Proactive/can-do attitude
- Organized and disciplined in organizing and managing work
