    Nokia Bell Labs is the world-renowned research arm of Nokia, having invented many of the foundational technologies that underpin information and communications networks and all digital devices and systems.     Nokia Bell Labs is building the future of human experience and our interns will have the opportunity to learn from and work with industry leading experts, who solve the most formidable challenges confronting our world through disruptive innovation and research.

    Education recommendations

    We expect the candidates to hold a Master's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area (computer science, electrical engineering, physics).

    What you will learn and contribute to

    We are looking for outstanding candidates interested to work at the cutting edge of machine learning research. We are particularly interested in advancing the state of the art in efficient machine learning.

    As part of our team, you may be working on one (or all) of these topics:

    • Design, optimize and analyze efficient machine learning algorithms.
    • Implement algorithms in software and create reusable software libraries.
    • Understand and model the use of unconventional hardware for machine learning.

    What is Nokia looking for from me?

    You must have:

    • A strong background in a science or engineering field at the graduate level.
    • Experience in programming in, e.g., Python, C++. 
    • Experience in machine learning, through courses or project work.

    It would be nice if you also had:

    • ​Experience with machine learning frameworks, e.g., Tensorflow, Keras.
    • Knowledge of Mathematica.
