The Resourcing Solutions team at North Yorkshire Council is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated Recruitment Marketing team as either a Recruitment Marketing Officer, or as a Graduate Trainee Recruitment Marketing Officer.

About the role

As a Recruitment Marketing Officer, you'll demonstrate your creativity to target and entice both passive and active candidates across different platforms. Reporting to the Talent Resourcing Adviser, you'll foster collaboration with Resourcing Officers, Partners, and wider NYC teams.

Your aim? To captivate candidates for our clients and internal teams, while expanding our resourcing solutions portfolio.

This is an ideal opportunity to gain experience and develop your career as you will gain exposure to different media and be able to evidence the impact of your work by attracting and engaging candidates to fill job vacancies. No two days will be the same, this role brings variety and challenge.

In our passionate team of recruiters, you'll refine your skill for candidate attraction, campaign analytics, and KPI reporting. Focusing on innovation, you'll employ creative strategies via social media and web campaigns. Using recruitment-specific tactics, you'll shape a Recruitment Marketing and Branding Strategy to help attract talent across the Council and its partner organisations, strengthening both our employer brand, and that of our partners.

You will show confidence in leading on employer branding initiatives, crafting compelling content to spotlight our culture, behaviours and values. Your role extends to managing our presence across recruitment channels, collaborating with the wider team, and scrutinising data and metrics to refine and improve our approach.

We are committed to the development and training of individuals and are open to applications from individuals looking for learning and progression, as a Graduate Trainee Recruitment Marketing Officer. This starts as a Grade E position for the first 6 months (£23,893 per year), rising to £25,119 (Grade F) after 6 months and then £26,873 (Grade G) for the final 12 months of the programme.

About you

Essential skills

  • Creative thinking skills with the ability to design, write, and edit content in a brand tone.
  • Ability to create engaging content for social media and review sites like Glassdoor and Indeed.
  • Proactive team player focused on delivering high-quality service.
  • Able to work calmly under pressure and prioritise tasks based on business needs.
  • Understanding of basic HTML, WordPress, digital design principles, UX, and experience with Photoshop.
  • Experience with employer branding in a recruitment environment.
  • Knowledge of how to enhance and improve employer branding.
  • Experience creating content such as blog posts, social media posts, videos, and testimonials.
  • Proficiency with IT tools: MS Office Suite, Canva, Adobe Suite.
  • Understanding of data analytics and Google Analytics.
  • Great attention to detail and excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
