    The Industrial Placement within the Women’s Rugby department at Northampton Saints will work within the Club’s partnership with Loughborough Lightning from July 2024 to the end of June 2025.

    This is an exciting position for a university student looking to gain insight into a wide range of areas across Lightning’s off-field functions during their placement year – including marketing and communications, commercial partnerships, community, and matchday operations. There will be opportunities to gain coaching qualifications and experience with different areas of day-to-day operations, as well as managing and delivering on your own projects/events.

    Key responsibilities

    • Support the growth of female rugby across the East Midlands through community development projects
    • Assist in delivering on the wider strategy of Northampotn Saints / Loughborough Lightning including:
      • Preparing and delivering Loughborough Lightning home matchdays at cinch stadium at Franklin’s Gardens
      • Support delivery of a weekly marketing plan
      • Support delivery of community programmes, and Loughborough Lightning player appearances
      • Assist in capturing / creating visual and digital content
    • Liaise with Loughborough Lightning colleagues on delivering day-to-day activities and planning larger events
    • Support in some administrative duties
    • Support in promoting and selling female rugby programmes and products
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders

    The duties and responsibilities outlined above are not exhaustive and the successful applicant may be required to undertake additional duties to meet the needs of the organisation.

    The ideal candidate will be

    • Currently undertaking a degree in Sport, Sports Management, Sport and Exercise Science, or other relevant subject
    • An effective team member with a willingness to take on varied roles and tasks
    • Strong administrative skills including high levels of attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
    • IT literate, with a good knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Strong communication, time management and interpersonal skills
    • Able to work without direct supervision when necessary
    • Clear DBS check
    • Full driving license and ability to travel desirable
