    We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our team, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. This is a varied and hands-on role offering fantastic exposure across key areas of finance, including Purchase Ledger, Procurement, and Credit Control.

    You'll be an essential part of our Finance Department, helping to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and contributing to long-term financial efficiency. This role is perfect for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and a drive to continuously improve processes.

    Key responsibilities

    • Process purchase order requests and supplier invoices
    • Reconcile supplier statements and assist with month-end processes
    • Support procurement, including negotiating with suppliers and reviewing contracts
    • Monitor and manage staff travel processes and related finance procedures
    • Carry out credit control tasks including chasing customers and reducing aged debt
    • Maintain and update supplier and customer records
    • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve finance queries
    • Support the Finance Manager with purchasing for new services and cost-saving initiatives
    • Update commissioner portals and distribute customer invoices
    • Ensure compliance with procurement and payment procedures
    • Conduct new supplier checks and maintain accurate supplier databases

    What we’re looking for

    • Previous experience in a finance or accounts assistant role is desirable
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
    • Excellent organisational and time management skills
    • Confident communicator with a proactive approach to problem-solving
    • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
    • A willingness to learn and grow within the finance function

    Salary up to £26k plus bens dependent upon experience
