Our programme starting September 2024, offers you a dynamic 24 month journey giving you comprehensive exposure to various aspects of the rail industry – from station operations to strategic planning and projects.

You’ll benefit from mentorship provided by leaders from across the business. Through their guidance, you’ll learn from their experience, which includes leading on major projects and spearheading innovation, enhance your strategic thinking and provide you with invaluable insights into the rail industry. This direct engagement is designed to prepare you for your next step in your career, equipping you with both a comprehensive skill set and a supportive professional network.

Programme outline

  • Rotational Assignments: Experience diverse aspects of our operations including Stations, Control, and Engineering.
  • Customer & Commercial Insight: Develop skills in Customer Experience, Marketing & Digital, and Commercial Strategy.
  • Business Awareness: Gain insight into Finance, Stakeholder Management, and Programmes.
  • Rail Industry Understanding: Work alongside Partner Train Operating Companies (TOCs) and Network Rail, participating in sector conferences.
  • Leadership Activities: Engage in tailored activities designed to enhance leadership skills, project management capabilities, and your overall business acumen.

About you

You’re creative, eager to learn and adapt, possessing a drive to lead and manage change within a complex business environment. Your collaboration skills enable you to engage effectively, with various stakeholders, ensuring your professional growth and the success of our collective goals. It’s also important that you have the following:

  • A degree in any discipline, demonstrating strong academic performance
  • Interest in project management, leadership, and commercial awareness
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
