At NWG (covering the North East, Essex & Suffolk), we’re preparing for a £6 billion investment programme running from 2025 to 2030, aiming to increase the resilience of our water and wastewater services while restoring and regenerating our environment.

To help achieve this we’re seeking graduates to join our Building Futures Graduate Scheme. Our program offers an exciting structured two-year opportunity to embark on an exciting career path with us.

    The role

During the scheme, you will gain valuable experience, training, and mentorship as you embark on four rotational placements within our Assets Directorate [who are responsible for designing, constructing & maintaining NWG’s incredible breadth & depth of assets, facilities & equipment] across teams like Integrated Delivery Services, PMO, Capital Delivery, Asset Intelligence, Maintenance, Engineering, and Transformation.

To help further your development you will take on stretching assignments during placements, have regular meetings with our early career specialist, workshops will also be delivered to allow you to develop a variety of soft and transferrable skills and you will have an opportunity to network throughout the programme by attending events.

We live water. Every one of our customers depends upon us every day, and we pride ourselves on making this a place where the best people come to make a positive difference.

As a company with a strong One Team ethos, we work together to achieve goals that deliver not only for us, but for our people, and for the communities we serve.

We believe that when you work hard you should be rewarded so we offer a wide range of benefits and discounts that our people can tap into that help create a healthy workplace and supports the needs of diverse colleagues.

    About you

You will be studying an Engineering, Environmental, Business or Science degree and on track to achieve a 2:1 or above, and looking for a great organisation to launch your career, where you can learn, are valued and where you can make a positive difference to the environment.

Or, you are studying in an unrelated degree discipline, but you’ve got a passion for the Water sector, for the environment, or you have a high aptitude to learning new things – and you’re impressed by NWG’s ethos, values & long term purpose.

We’re looking for you to demonstrate a passion towards learning, this includes taking on challenges and seeking feedback to improve.

As you will be working within a team, we’re looking for you to be able to work collaboratively, using your proven communication skills to engage. You will also participate in assignments, structured training, and other opportunities across the organisation.

Innovation is at the heart of everything we do, which means we would love you to bring new ideas and ways of working to help us improve. This will help contribute to our vision to be national leader.

It would be useful if you had a driving licence for this role.
