About the role
This three-month paid internship is designed to help you gain valuable knowledge and experience to support you in your future career.
You will be allocated a mentor and be provided with individual support to guarantee a valuable experience.
In November 2021 we published our new Nottinghamshire Plan 2021-31, which sets out our 10-year vision for a healthy, prosperous and greener Nottinghamshire for everyone. We used feedback from over 12,000 of our residents to shape ten ambitions for our County. This is a really exciting time to be supporting NCC with their implementation of the new Nottinghamshire Plan.
As this is an internship we’re not expecting the finished article. Instead we’re looking for people who can be creative and innovative in finding solutions, are positive and adaptable and can drive forward change whilst remaining resilient. Comfortable working under pressure you’ll be able to work in collaboration with others but also be willing to take responsibility. You’ll also embrace our organisational values particularly in terms of diversity. We are a proud signatory of the Race at Work Charter and are also accredited as a Disability Confident Leader employer. And with thriving networks of Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority, disabled and LGBT+ employees we are particularly keen to receive applications from those who reflect the diversity of the communities we serve.
The three-month internship offers you the chance to gain valuable experience in the workplace and to develop some of the skills, knowledge and experiences that can help you in your future career aspirations. You will be involved in meaningful work that helps deliver on some of our key ambitions as outlined in the Nottinghamshire Plan.
You will be recruited on to the scheme as an intern and then allocated a placement in one of our departments according to your skill set, career aspirations or development needs. You will get the opportunity to work in a supportive environment which is committed to your individual needs and development.
You will ideally have an interest in local government or the wider public sector and have a passion about developing your skills and seeking out new experiences. You will also embrace our organisational values particularly in terms of diversity
