We have billions of data points at our disposal, mapping the customer journey from the time they log on to the website to their orders arriving at the door.
From picking orders in our automated warehouses, to our transport operations on the road, we look to maximise profitability whilst improving our customer offering. This can range from the short-term configuration of planning processes to long-term logistical strategy, shaping the future growth of Ocado.
We are seeking exceptional graduates who possess strong numerical and problem solving skills, have a ‘can do’ attitude and want to kick start their career in analytics.
What will you be doing?
- Learning how to work with large internal data sets using tools such as SQL, BigQuery and Tableau
- Developing your ability to identify trends, develop models, design reports, and build tools to drive continuous operational improvement
- Collaborating with stakeholders in cross-functional teams including Operations, Service Delivery, Supply Chain, Finance and Data Science to enable data-driven decision making and facilitate operational excellence
- Using your analytical and communications skills to continuously improve metric performance and deliver a range of projects
About you
- Have a very strong academic background (2:1 as minimum), preferably in a STEM or other numerate degree
- Evidence of exceptional analytical skills and quantitative problem solving
- Curious by nature and get a kick out of unearthing fascinating insights
- Comfortable presenting your work with confidence to key stakeholders in a range of formats
- Good command of Excel, ideally with the use of VBA and macros
- Experience in using database coding such as SQL, SAP, SPSS, SAS, programming languages desirable, but not a necessity
- A demonstrable interest in one or more of the following is desirable
- Logistics or Retail environments
- People or Asset planning
- Using geographic information system software (QGIS) to analyse geospatial vector data
- Using Visualisation software (Tableau, Qlik, Google Data Studio)
- Querying and leveraging Big Data (Google Big Query, Amazon Redshift)
