    About the role

    Ocean Infinity is seeking a Trainee Dynamic Payload Control Operator. This will involve learning a completely revolutionary way to control a Sub Sea Payload from one of our Operations Centres and be at the forefront of marine technology.

    Remote operators will control Sub Sea Payloads from one of our Operations Centres or Centres of Excellence enabling discovery of the marine world through interactions with vessels operating all over the globe.

    Our vessels work for a wide range of clients, and we pride ourselves on looking to lead the way in green solutions. As a trainee, you will be led through the various tasks that we perform offshore. These include interactions with subsea robotics and state of the art remote solutions. The main task of a remote operator is to manage and monitor one of our Remote payloads. This enables us to create a complete picture from the surface to the seabed and below.

    You will become a key member of the remote team helping plan and lead day to day operations of the vessels initially under the supervision of senior operators. You will help us to Prove Concept in Service delivery, Remote Operations and the ability to diagnose and fault find operation software. You will aid in a Global transition to our Centres if Excellence and assist in Multi-Cultural training and manning requirements.

    What will you do

    • Trained in all the Remote Payload systems that are currently used by the company;
    • Introduced to our innovative remote setup
    • Remotely operate and co-ordinate Dynamic Payload Control Operations for a vessel under supervision
    • Support of the remote operation team.
    • Assist in proving concept in Operational Software fault finding process
    • Operate Dynamic Payload under supervision in Operations Centres for Live Operations and commissioning of equipment under Supervision
    • Responsible to follow outlined project plans and keep to client requirements;
    • Being central to proof of concept to the development, training and manning in the transition to our Centres of Excellence.
    • Able to assist in the training and instruction of junior Team members as you gain experience
    • Understand DPC Payload User Interface
    • Review Logs
    • Understand and Interpret User Interface to Make and instruct logical decisions when Fault Finding
    • Support with Operational Configurations
    • Understand Operations Holistically and support where required.

    Who you are

    • Degree level education; Undergraduate degree in software, electronic engineering or equivalent or Software development experience
    • Competent level of English;
    • Strong understanding of quality management such as standards, regulations, applicable policies and procedures;
    • Good practical experience with office tools: MS Office, Google Drive, Teams, e-mail, among others;
    • Integrity, credibility and maturity for confidential issues;
    • Strong communication skills;
    • Driven, proactive and able to work autonomously with little supervision towards the company's purpose;
    • Critical thinking and ability to show initiative;
    • Open and receptive to new and different ideas.

    Desirable

    • Understanding of the marine environment through hobbies or work e.g. sailing, diving, surfing;
    • Linux experience preferable
    • Strong interest in technology and computing.
    • Strong interest in robotics / drones
    • ROV Operational experience
    • Engineering Qualifications and experience

    Salary for this position: Up to £32,000 per annum

    Salary: The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
