High-Level Overview of our Group

OpSo – Operations Solutions - represents the evolution and transformation of both Operations and Technology in the Finance Industry which creates a uniqueness about how we deliver products and solutions. We are part of the Investment Banking Division [internally known as Institutional Client Groups / ICG supporting the Capital Markets franchise. We have presence in over 15 countries with our head office in New Jersey. Our platforms are responsible for moving hundreds of billions of assets across 60 countries on any given day. The OpSo family comprises of ~400 Operations professionals and ~500 Technologists performing functions ranging from process automation, exception handling, risk management, client service, software development & engineering, product development, project management, market & data analysts and many others. We are considered industry thought leaders in the Operations & Post-Execution Technology domain, collaborating internally as well with our Service Providers and Competitors to ensure the industry delivers the most optimal and excellent service to our clients. We interact with over ~6,000 clients, exchanges, and central securities depositories (CSDs) and central counterparties (CCPs). In addition, we engage daily with Sales & Trading, Middle Office, Legal and many other internal divisions. Role Overview

This is an entry-level role within the Cash Equity settlements team. This is a great opportunity to join a high performing & energised team who directly interact with over 6,000 global clients, exchanges, and central securities depositories (CSDs) and central counterparties (CCPs) and support our trading desk across 3 key regions (Europe, Asian and the United States).

The analyst will be responsible daily for the settlement of trades, the management of fails and the identification and management of risk within a specific market group, or for a specific set of clients. This is a high profile global team with exposure to large volumes of trades and high value items. The role involves daily engagement with clients, internal stakeholders and 3rd party vendors to resolve settlement issues and identify/resolve root cause. The successful candidate will receive supportive training and a personal development plan to help them succeed within this role and develop their career at Citi.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Running daily reports and investigating large volumes of data to find and resolve differences in trade economics.
  • Regular communication with clients and trading desks, with focus on exception reconciliation.
  • Amending trades as per instruction from the trading desks.
  • Enhance our client experience by identifying process improvements to increase the automation of daily processes.
  • Manage multiple internal and vendor systems to find exceptions and resolve.
  • Prioritising daily workload efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Identify risk and root causes of non-settlement and work with team to input resolutions to achieve settlement and mitigate risk
  • Meet control standards and understand regulatory requirements
  • Documentation and publication of senior management reporting where required
  • Build and develop relationships with other internal teams and clients

 

Criteria

  • Previous relevant experience is preferable but not essential as transferrable skillsets will also be considered

Education
