About the Role:
As an Associate in our Optum Technology Graduate Development Programme, you will be provided opportunities to channel your curiosity into initiative, working alongside distinguished and experienced team members, pursuing innovations that improve the health care experience for everyone. The Graduate Development Programme at Optum Technology includes 12 consecutive months of training with the option of rotating into a new role after the first 6 months in the program.
As a Graduate Associate, you’ll gain invaluable experience and learn from leading innovators as a member of our Optum Technology team engaged in life-changing work. Key Information on the Technology Development Programme:
The following are tracks where candidates may be placed. Please note that track placement is dependent on business need and location availability. While we will take your track preference under consideration, it is not guaranteed:
- Software Engineering
- Infrastructure & Operations Engineering
- Product Management
- Security Operations & Engineering

Required Qualifications of the Technology Development Programme:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or currently be in the final year of obtaining a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or other technical discipline
- Have recent analytics or technology experience perhaps through internships, graduate programmes, research projects, or degrees
Preferred Qualifications of the Technology Development Programme:
- Involvement in any additional technical activities (Robotics, Comp. Science/Tech clubs, Tech or Engineering side projects, GitHub, etc.) and/or tech related employment experience
- Effective communication style to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Higher degrees (PhD, MSc) or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in core programming concepts and at least one programming language (Example: Python, Java, Scala, C, SQL, .NET)
