This exciting and innovative graduate programme is designed to develop talented individuals who will grow and potentially lead our business in the future. You will have the opportunity to work across several different business functions to gain full appreciation of the nuclear lifecycle. Each graduate is allocated a mentor over a two-year period, who will work closely with you to support the induction process and your subsequent career development.
During your time as a Graduate Waste Management Consultant, you will be part of a 2-year graduate scheme in which your employment will continue thereafter, your work here will have a real impact on making our world safer both for now and for future generations to come. This early exposure will equip you with the breadth of knowledge to ensure you start off with a strong footing in your career with us.
As a Graduate Waste Management Consultant, you will support the development of waste management decommissioning strategies, provide technical waste management expertise across the full asset life cycle and develop solutions for waste treatment, waste routings and suitable disposal solutions. There may be an opportunity to do secondments with other disciplines that you are interested in too.
Some of the specialist tasks you could be involved in
- Contribute to developing creative ideas, strategies and new service offers which aim to better manage waste.
- Carry out studies, research and analysis relating to waste management and Characterisation.
- Support in waste inventory management, developing waste inventories and fingerprints.
- Contribute to business development by supporting proposals/bids, delivering internal activities and seeking and implementing improvement initiatives.
- Assist with project management including budgets for specific assignments and projects.
- Undertake activities to support professional development.

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will:
- Have a degree (or working towards) BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng in Nuclear Decommissioning and Waste Management or any other relevant degree such as:
- Chemical engineering
- Environmental Science engineering field
- Nuclear Physics
- Chemistry or Physics/Science related subject
- with the following skills and abilities:
- Be able to Demonstrate initiative on moderate problem solving within assigned tasks.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organisational skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Good team player and flexible
- Enthusiastic and keen to learn.

The assessment day will take place in 2025. We are currently seeking 2 graduates for our waste department and the role can be based at any of our 3 UK locations.
