    Organon are recruiting for a student to join us by the beginning of August 2024 for 12 months for a student placement to join our world class manufacturing site in Cramlington, Northumberland.

    What you'll do

    Working as an integrated member of the laboratory team, you will be responsible for

    • Preparation and Analysis of laboratory samples using a wide range of analytical techniques (e.g. HPLC, Diode Array, Dissolution, UV, Karl Fisher moisture analysis etc.)
    • Implement Laboratory improvement projects or tasks as advised by Laboratory Coaches to realise improvements in Safety, Quality, Supply or Cost.
    • Work with our team on investigations and follow up issues arising from laboratory atypical deviations, establishing assignable causes for events and proposing appropriate actions to prevent recurrence and improve processes.
    • Ensure compliance with our Company’s Global Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, regulatory requirements and execute Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the performance of day-to-day activities and all applicable job functions.
    • Develop and produce new SOPs / Job Instructions etc. to maintain and further encourage standard practices and compliance status of the laboratories.

    Education & Skills

    • Studying a degree in a scientific discipline (e.g. Analytical Chemistry, Forensic Science, Biomedical Sciences, Microbiology, Chemistry) or equivalent qualification.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to build relationships and trust at all levels and with diverse stakeholders.
    • Excellent problem solving and innovating skills with academic curiosity
    • Operates with a high level of integrity, transparency and accountability
    • Team player, learning from and helping others overcome obstacles.
    • Display excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver to deadlines.

    Application Process

    • Stage 1 – Submission of CV and Cover Letter (by 3 December 2023)
      • Candidates will be required to submit their CV and cover letter.
    • Stage 2 – Initial Informal Discussion (between 4 and 15 December)
      • Candidates will be selected and invited to take part in an initial informal discussion about the role, as well as an opportunity for you to find out about the company.
    • Stage 3 – Assessment Centre + Final Interview (19 December)
      • Those candidates successful at stage 2 will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre, located on site at Cramlington. Candidates will spend a day at the facility, getting a feel for Organon as well as taking part in several activities including a site tour and a final interview.
