About the Role
The is an exciting time to join our newly created Inventory Centre of Excellence team, you’ll have the opportunity to really make this role your own, improve processes and influence at a time of change. You’ll be responsible for identifying, reviewing, analysing, and evaluating processes, systems and user needs to meet and/or exceed performance goals in a cost-effective manner. You’ll be involved with cutting edge technology and have a primary focus on OUP’s Print on Demand (POD) program.
Key responsibilities include
- Identifying performance discrepancies in the workflows and propose solutions
- Support in the execution the POD, Auto-Replenishment and Auto-Ordering
- Defining, revising and streamlining documents
- Outline cost-effective production processes
- Formulate plans to resolve production process inefficiencies and makes recommendations
- Ensuring performance indicators are developed and monitored, with recommendations for areas of potential improvement
- Assisting with driving suppliers toward open standard, reliable, scalable, and more cost-effective processes.
- Reviewing the use of forecasting systems and methodologies, for the benefit of supplier capacity performance
- Supporting the design and implementation of pilot programs, projects and policies
We are currently operating a hybrid working policy and we expect this role to require 2 days a week working from the office.
About You
You’ll be a pro-active individual passionate about continuous improvement with the following:
Essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to speak with people at all levels, be able to influence and bring your audience with you ‘along the journey’
- Demonstrable experience in process analysis and inventory forecasting with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
- Experience working cross functionally
- Working knowledge of demand planning software (or similar software)
Desirable
- Sector experience in either publishing, retail, customer goods or manufacturing
- Knowledge of SAP APO and/or IBP
- Previous experience in a similar role within supply chain.
