Perhaps you have spent the last few months travelling or maybe you're working in a role that doesn’t utilise your analytical skills or provide you with the career challenge that you’re looking for?
We are urgently looking for a graduate to join our Research & Development Actuarial Team to work on several important projects. You will join us in the Spring ahead of our September graduate cohort, at which point you will all follow the graduate rotational programme together as outlined below.
Who are we?
We're a global reinsurance company, providing mortality, morbidity, and longevity reinsurance products as well as funded and capital solutions. Our client base stretches across the world from the UK and Europe to North America, Asia and Australia.
We’re a recently established reinsurer, which brings agility, flexibility, and an innovative mindset. However, the rich heritage of our 150-year-old parent company, Pacific Life, means we have the financial backing of a particularly strong insurance group.
Underlying our philosophy is an intelligent approach to taking risks. By recruiting top quality employees and investing in the latest analytical technologies, we believe we’re well placed to make the best decisions for our clients.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for talented, technical-minded, ambitious, and hard-working graduate to join the Research & Development team in our London office as an Actuarial Analyst. We pride ourselves in thinking differently and so we want people who aren’t afraid to challenge the norm.
To succeed in our Graduate Programme, you will need to be numerate with the ability to analyse and interpret data. You will be motivated to study to qualify as an Actuary. You will need to be a collaborative team player and be able to write fluently in English. Good interpersonal skills will also stand you in good stead.
The minimum grade requirements to apply for our programme are an A grade in A-Level Maths or a Maths related subject and a 2:1 (achieved) in a STEM degree (or a predicted 2:1 if you're in your final year and able to start in May).
What are we offering?
Should you be successful in your application, you will begin working within our R&D team, gaining hands-on experience from a range of actuarial projects. We provide a generous study package of study days and financial support to help you qualify as an Actuary.
You will also join our graduate scheme which will enable future rotations into other teams. All of this will develop you into a well-rounded Actuary, with a broad understanding of our business and the services that we provide to our clients.
We have designed a rotations programme to give our graduates broad actuarial knowledge and future rotations will give you the opportunity to spend time in a variety of different Actuarial teams including Pricing, Valuation, and Modelling. You'll be given stimulating, hands-on roles and have the opportunity to apply the skills you develop across a broad range of projects.
Pacific Life Re’s vision is to have a culture that embraces Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging where everyone’s views and ideas are valued and everyone has the same opportunity to fulfil their potential. We strongly believe it’s not just about adding diversity and educating our employees to draw on our differences to change our business, it’s about how well we are listening to – and learning from – the diversity that we already have within the business. We foster open conversations, and we are actively training our employees, helping us to unite, learn and grow.
Closing date is Sunday 24th March although early applications are encouraged as suitable candidates may be called to interview ahead of the closing date.
