Job Description
The Data Analyst Intern will be accountable for supporting the UK Large Enterprise Sales Team in strategic and tactical decision making, performance monitoring and delivering actionable customer insights.
The Large Enterprise Sales Team team identifies opportunities across the UK business. This may be through finding new sources of revenue, finding ‘whitespace’ within the existing merchant portfolio, or upsell opportunities. The team works cross-functionally with other PayPal teams in the UK and internationally to bring about this change.
The internship would suit someone currently studying for an Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Science or other numerate degree
Starting July 2023 for 12 months
Responsibilities
- Use various data / extraction maniplulation techniques (using R/SQL/Python/MS Excel) to understand past trends
- Conduct data driven deep dive analysis on strategic topics e.g. new vertical analysis, merchant churn, etc
- Write code that automates dashboards allowing Sales Teams to find new opportunities
- Track performance of our merchant business against goals, identify where and why we are over or underperforming
- Support the Enterprise Sales team with strategic and tactical decision
Requirements
- Good knowledge of SQL with ability to run queries to extract data. Knowledge of R and Python is a bonus
- Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and an interest for a career in Analytics
- Exceptional at interpreting and drawing business insights from data and analysis
- Comfortable using MS Excel, including pivot tables
- Excellent oral, written, and communication/presentation skills
- Currently enrolled in a university degree program
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
