As a Public Relations Officer, you will work as part of a busy press office, reporting to the Public Relations Manager. With a particular focus on managing both proactive and reactive media relations across various platforms, you’ll help to shape and share Peabody’s story. You’ll develop compelling content that supports our strategic priorities, ensuring Peabody remains at the heart of our communities while influencing national conversations about the housing crisis.

About you

You’ll enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, and you’re first rate at building strong relationships and drawing out ideas and information. You’ll have experience of working on sensitive issues and an understanding of national housing policy, sector initiatives, and the media landscape would be advantageous.

You’ll need to be in the office for 2 days per week and the remaining time you’ll be able to work remotely.

The role

Your role covers building Peabody’s brand, reputation, and influence through effective media engagement. This will include researching, writing, and pitching press releases, as well as responding to media enquiries. You will create and implement structured communication plans, generate ideas for comment pieces and campaigns, and support external speakers at events and conferences. Managing media monitoring systems, producing regular reports on key metrics, and creating content for Peabody’s corporate social media channels will also form part of your role. Additionally, you will support roundtable discussions, ensure PR activities are effectively evaluated, and participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours media enquiries.

This is your chance to join a collaborative and impactful organisation where your work will directly influence the lives of thousands of people. If you’re ready to bring your creativity, passion, and expertise to a role that truly makes a difference, we would love to hear from you.
