    We have an exciting opportunity to join our Human Resources team as a HR Administrator on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract (parental leave cover).

    As a HR Administrator you will be responsible for delivering proactive and efficient HR administration and data processing in support of the HR team, across the employee lifecycle.

    What you will do

    The duties of the role will be split into three key areas, and responsibilities will include the following.

    Administration

    • Creating new joiner contracts and setting up new joiners on all relevant internal systems in advance of a start date
    • Processing any employee changes on our systems (HRIS) and generating letters in support of those changes (for example salary changes, promotions, maternity/adoption leave etc.)
    • Managing the monthly benefits processes

    Data Integrity and People Analytics

    • Ensuring that all information contained within our HR systems is accurate and can be relied upon, and continually seek ways to improve the accuracy and functionality of the HRIS
    • Running scheduled reports and ad-hoc reports as required
    • Supporting with analysis of data for colleagues and stakeholders across the HR function

    Liaison with employees

    • Acting as the first point of contact with employees for certain matters (for example name changes, benefit queries etc.)
    • Interacting with employees to answer questions and investigate issues as relevant and/or as requested by the HR generalist team
    • Supporting the HR generalists with the delivery of the company induction process

    What you’ll bring

    We’re looking for someone who has a professional and friendly attitude, and who can build positive and proactive relationships with key stakeholders within the HR and Payroll teams, as well as with employees. To be successful, you’ll need:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written with a good customer focus
    • Attention to detail - able to work at pace with ‘right first time’ accuracy
    • A track record of working to deadlines with the ability to prioritise workload
    • To be able to work independently and on own initiative within specified guidelines or processes
    • To be comfortable learning, working with and adapting to IT systems

    Previous experience within a HR, Payroll environment and working with HRIS is desirable but is not essential as we will provide all the necessary training.

    The team

    The HR Admin team sits within HR Operations and provides vital support to teams within the HR division, and works closely with in-house departments such a Payroll, Pensions, Finance and external provider companies, too. The work done by the team covers the whole employee lifecycle - from preparing contracts for people joining Penguin Random House, to processing leaver information.

    Hybrid working

    For this role we expect that you will come into one of our offices, based in London (Pimlico and Nine Elms), once a week. Working patterns will be discussed further at interview stage.
