    We are looking for an enthusiastic book lover with a passion for sales and customer care who would relish the opportunity to be part of DK, the world’s leading illustrated non-fiction Publisher.

    Our DK International department is a fun, friendly and diverse bunch responsible for selling rights and export for our beautiful books across the world.

    The role

    We are seeking a confident and eager Sales Assistant with proven communication skills, to provide administrative support to the Export team who are dedicated, ambitious and ready to take things to the next level. This is a superb opportunity to join our team of six and to work in a vibrant and fast-paced export sales environment.

    Responsible for a range of activities, your typical duties will include (but not be limited to):

    • general support for the Global Export Team
    • providing excellent customer service to our key customers
    • helping the team with processing and tracking export orders
    • creating sales material, newsletter and bespoke lists for customers
    • sending out sample copies, materials and title information to our wide range of clients
    • running sales reports
    • liaising with internal stakeholders (from our Sales Operations team to Finance and Marketing)
    • organising and attending customer meetings, and potentially attending key international book fairs!
    • replying to ad hoc queries and resolving issues

    About you

    We are looking for someone who enjoys interacting with customers and can work both individually and as part of a team. Juggling a workload where no two days are the same, it is essential you possess exceptional organisational & time management skills, be a problem solver and have a keen eye for detail. Communicating with internal and external stakeholders, it is essential that you are comfortable talking to people at all levels. Working in a sales environment, you’ll be using your numerical and IT skills a lot, particularly Excel and Google Slides.

    If you’re the kind of person who can pick up new systems quickly, think on your feet and work to deadlines whilst maintaining a positive, can-do approach, this could be just the job for you.

    Whilst not essential, it would be great if you spoke a second language and any previous knowledge of other publishing systems would be an advantage.

    • The role is based in our London office at Embassy Gardens, currently working 2 days in the office, although we will be moving to Vauxhall Bridge Road in August. Some international travel for business may also be required.

    • Salary: circa. £27,500 per annum dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
