Our Royalties team here at Penguin Random House are looking for an Royalty Analyst Operations assistant to join them on a permanent, part time basis. The role will be based at our distribution centre in Frating, Colchester.
The role
You will report to the Operations Team Leader and together ensure that the sales are accurately recorded to enable calculation of royalties and sub rights.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Reconciliations of SAP, affiliate and co-edition sales.
- Liaising with team members from within PRH and external partners in regard to ad hoc queries.
- Internal auditing of Author and ISBN records.
- Manual adjustment of sales records.
- Analysis and distribution of weekly reports and investigation into anomalies in the database (Royalty exception reports, and warnings files)
- Testing and documentation of new system developments
- Production and analysis of Licensing Royalty Statements
- Assist with the maintenance of and querying coming from the Royalty Statement Portal
- Work with Royalty Operations Team Leader regarding mini-projects as they arise
What you'll bring
Experience in a high-volume transaction business area where accuracy is essential. High proficiency in MS Office programs including Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint will be crucial, alongside a positive and enthusiastic attitude to your work. You will also possess good communication skills and attention to detail.
The teams
The royalties team comprises of 10 people, who are split in to 3 smaller teams. Royalty Operations where this role sits look after the daily and monthly reconciliations of the sales to ensure we are accurately reporting. Royalty Contracts is primarily responsible for the manual statements and the editing of the contracts for missing rates and royalty sets. The third and final team the Head Contracts team actively set up the contracts within our system Biblio so that advances can be paid and royalties can be calculated. They also look at deceased authors, bank and address changes. As a team we also look after the period end processing. As a team we also look after the period end processing.

Salary: £22,000 - £26,000 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
