    PepsiCo is on the look-out for an R&D Social Beverages and Regulatory Intern to join our R&D function on a 6 month contract commencing in March 2022 at our site in Little Island.

    We are the concentrate team in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. We are at the heart of PepsiCo products, sourcing ingredients to manufacture more than 1,200 recipes for our brands.     Primary Accountabilities

    • Support R&D Social Beverages Product Development Team for Europe wide initiatives.
    • Support new product development based on consumer insights, cost, process/package requirements and ensure regulatory compliance;
    • Support the formula design for innovation, productivity and product optimization, and responsible for prototype preparation in lab;
    • Carry out Product stability tests and shelf life studies
    • Work with food safety, quality, nutrition to ensure the product design meet the respective guardrails
    • Work with SCPI team to support consumer research and exploration;
    • Work with engineering team for trial runs in pilot plant and scale up trial run in plant;
    • Work with finance team, PGCS innovation, supply chain, operation team to ensure formula commercialization from lab to plant;
    • Follow Technical Stage Gate (TSG) and ensure every project meets TSG requirement;
    • Follow global practice and requirements on flavor guardrail, TPR and FSS documentation.
    • Support the regulatory affairs team with tasks

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Currently pursuing a degree in Food Science /Chemistry / Microbiology / Engineering or related discipline.
    • Good knowledge of basic chemistry and nutrition
    • High degree of initiative, drive and motivation – working independently as well as a team player.
    • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Strong interest in Food and the Food Industry, Innovation and product development
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
    • Understanding of instrumentation
    • Excellent people skills with the ability to work well with others.
    • Flexible working style - able to deal with uncertainty and complexity.
