    Key responsibilities

    • Responsible for personal safety and working within the provisions and guidelines of the Petrofac HSE framework.
    • Study and improve understanding of project objectives, organisation, and contract requirements.
    • Understand the corporate and contract specific Estimating, Cost and Planning procedures and carry out all work in accordance with these, in alignment with the Brownfield Functional Framework.
    • Provide general assistance to all members of the Project Controls team on a Contract.
    • Provide functional assistance to the Corporate Project Controls leadership team

    Cost Specific

    • Assist in the development of Project budgets
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of project cost plans using appropriate software applications.
    • Provide copies of project cost reports in accordance with project reporting requirements.
    • Monitor and report on cost impact of project manpower forecasts
    • Attend project meetings as required.
    • Assist in the project cost close-out process

    Planning Specific

    • Where required assist with the accurate input of estimates and change requests into the planning system in accordance with any defined Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) or standard contract requirements.
    • Assist in the development of project plans and schedules
    • Under the guidance of the Senior / Planning engineer assist in the preparation of sensible and achievable schedules as logic networks with single start and finish activities.
    • Assist with the development of project manpower requirements based on project plans and schedules.
    • Assist with the capture and processing of project progress data and updating project plans and schedules to reflect this.
    • Assist with the preparation and issue of reports in line with the contract reporting requirements.
    • Attend project meetings as required.
    • Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of relevant scheduling software.
    • Support senior and planning personnel as appropriate.
    • Liaise with the project cost team to ensure the maintenance of accurate man hour forecasting.

    • Assist in the development of Project Cost Estimates
    • Assist in the Change Control process
    • Provide copies of Estimating reports in accordance with project reporting requirements

    • Assist in the filing of all relevant documentation

    Essential qualifications and skills

    • Secondary Education, preferably at “Higher” level
    • Strong numeracy skills required
    • Good verbal and written communication required
    • Good computerised systems skills
    • Basic knowledge of Cost, Planning & Estimating principles.
    • Basic knowledge of Project Management principles and techniques.
    • Previous industry experience beneficial but not essential.
