    We are based in Hertfordshire, in the town of Hoddesdon. The Hoddesdon campus, consisting of several purpose built scientific and administrative buildings together with a purpose built conference STE area has more than 5,000m2 of premier R&D space and houses an established Process Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Drug Discovery team, and a newly formed Formulation Development department.

    The Hoddesdon site has state-of-the-art Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standard facilities for the development of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), formulation development and process chemistry.     Job Summary

    We have opened a new Bioanalysis group at the Hoddesdon site to complement our work at Rushden. This team will work closely with the newly formed in vitro DMPK Assay group at Hoddesdon.

    The Pharmaron Team is looking to expand and recruit a Graduate Research Scientist to perform analysis of small and large molecules in biological samples.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities

    • Perform established analytical procedures.
    • Prepare samples for analysis.
    • General laboratory tasks.
    • Support other members of staff in their work as appropriate or as directed by Management.
    • Perform basic instrument set-up and maintenance and method development as required, with necessary guidance.
    • Ensure work is conducted, documented, and reported in line with department practices and governing policies, and with client requirements where appropriate.

    Qualification

    Essential Requirements

    • BSc (Hons) or higher in Chemistry or related subject.
    • Industrial Placement or prior experience in an analytical, biochemistry or similar laboratory advantageous.
    • Knowledge of quantitative triple quadrupole mass spectrometry paired with liquid chromatography.
    • Experience in sample extraction and work-up methods.
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
