    The Programmes

    The Pharmaron Industrial Placement programme offers UK undergraduate students the opportunity to experience the fast-paced world of a leading pharmaceutical R&D facility. We are recruiting for 4 12-month placements in the following areas for a summer 2023 start.

    Analytical Sciences Industrial Placement

    This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate(s) to work within a dynamic, vibrant company with a global presence and develop a wide range of skills under the supervision of experienced scientists. Joining the Analytical Development team at Pharmaron Liverpool will empower you to apply your scientific knowledge in the exciting field of gene therapy.

    Through an industrial placement within the Analytical Development team, you will build both practical and technical scientific skills in a variety of analytical assays including plate-based assays e.g., PCR, ELISA and chromatography-based assays such as UPLC or LCMS.

    The job will be mainly laboratory based although the chosen candidate(s) will also be involved in documentation, report writing and presenting work to the wider team.     • Studying towards an undergraduate degree in Analytical or Medicinal Chemistry, life sciences (i.e. Molecular/Cell Biology, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology Biotechnology etc.).
    • Predicted 1st or 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent).

    Process Sciences Industrial Placement

    Joining the Process Sciences team at Pharmaron Liverpool will empower you to apply your scientific knowledge in the exciting field of gene therapy.

    Through an industrial placement within the Upstream or Downstream team, you will build both practical and technical scientific skills in a variety of production and purification techniques (from cell culture to chromatography!) by conducting research that supports the development of innovative medicinal products.

    • Studying towards an undergraduate degree in life sciences (i.e. Molecular/Cell Biology, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology Biotechnology etc.).

    Requirements

    • Demonstrable laboratory skills
    • Scientific understanding as demonstrated by undergraduate examinations
