    We are now looking for students to join us for a one-year industrial placement, starting in summer 2024 at our London office. As an undergraduate placement student your work will play a key role in helping us make the decisions that maximise our value for employees, shareholders and customers; assess the health of our business; and drive improved performance.

    The placement programme is our starting point to identify and cultivate talented, passionate people and build a workforce that can propel us and more importantly you into an extraordinary future when you graduate.

    Placement student positions for 2024

    Roles available include:

    • Brand & Communications Coordinator : Responsible for supporting the wider Brand marketing team in developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective communications strategy. This includes supporting the B2B specialist with customer communications, PR, industry events and customer hospitality in service of driving sales and creating value in our Wholesale and Retail channels-of-trade.
    • Contracts Analyst: Help to co-ordinate and maintain the trading agreements which support the buying and selling of physical crude oil, feedstocks, refined products and renewables commodities. Provide key support to Trading and Operations, plus interaction with other functions such as Legal, Treasury, Insurance, Finance, Marine, and Tax departments for contractual concurrence.
    • Renewable Fuels Analyst: Working as part of the Commercial Renewables team, the role will predominantly provide systems support to our sustainability and compliance, origination and operations functions as we continue to grow our low carbon fuels offering.
    • Compliance Analyst: Delivering an appropriate compliance program to fulfil both Phillips 66 and the UK Financial Conduct Authority (‘FCA’) compliance and regulatory obligations. In addition, conduct risk based due diligence and screening on existing and potential new customers and vendors.

    What we are looking for in a placement student

    • The legal right to live and work in the UK on permanent basis without restrictions, or meet the relevant criteria for employer sponsorship.
    • A student who has the option to undertake a placement year as part of their degree, has completed at least their 2nd year of a relevant degree and is on course to achieve a minimum grade of 2:1.
    • Competent IT knowledge and experience using Microsoft applications.
    • A pro-active self-starter, with confidence to utilise initiative.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Someone who is highly motivated with a drive and energy to lead and influence change.
    • A good team player who can work with and influence others with a real flair for problem-solving.
    • Someone who can prioritise effectively and manage conflicting priorities.
    • Most importantly, you have a passion and excitement for the energy industry.

    Phillips 66 has significant marketing operations in Europe. In the UK the business is primarily wholesale, selling fuels to distributors (some of whom are branded JET) and resellers. The fuels are either collected by customers or delivered through a contracted road tanker fleet operating out of a number of UK distribution points. In addition, Phillips 66 Limited supplies a network of approximately 330 independently owned petrol forecourts, all of which are branded JET.

    Other markets served are aviation, marine and LPG. JET supplies some of the UK's growing secondary airports using owned and shared refuelling tankers and storage, and delivers to airlines through contracted refuelling operations. Marine markets are served using contracted vehicles, as is the LPG business.
